Is it possible to make money on the internet? According to lots of e-books out there, it is… and beside that, it is extremely easy. I have tried a lot of different things in my life trying to make that elusive extra buck. Some has given me moderate results, some has failed miserably. In the end I guess I ended up almost even. I was about to give up one all money making opportunities, then I ended up buying the book Google Cash, written by Chris Carpenter. Why I coughed up $67 for this book I will never know, but it changed my view on making money on the internet.

I learned that it is possible to make money being an affiliate. There is so many possible affiliates out there it is staggering. Go ahead and do a search on the word affiliate on a search engine. You will be blown away by the sheer amount available. Being an affiliate means advertising other people's products, but with the incentive that they pay you for every sale you bring in, in some cases up to 75%. This means that if a product sells for $50, you can earn anything from $20-$37 for every sale you earn. This sound too good to be true, but I still tried it. I learned that the secret to success was in traffic, getting people to see your adverts. There are various options like setting up your own website, making use of pay-per-click (PPC) programs like Adwords etc. The one thing that I learned was that it will cost you some extra money. Setting up a website, or making use of PPC, cost money.
I wasted some money trying to make a quick buck, but I made nothing for the first two weeks. I was a bit peeved, since some of the people selling their books online promise you will make thousands in a few days. But I stuck at it, making use of different options like getting paid to surf the net, getting paid to read email and of course being an affiliate for various programs and suddenly last week money started dripping in. Will I become rich? Man I do not know, but I do think I will be able to make some money. I had about 400 visitors to my site the last four weeks, and I made $100 already. I am still waiting for my site to be indexed by search engines and hopefully that will increase my income. This is very exciting for me. I went from someone thinking that all money making opportunities to being very excited about making money online. I am still very far away from being rich, but then I much could I make after only four weeks of trying. But give me a few months… and who knows?
